Beendesigned is a small website design studio, consisting of a group of independant website designers based in the UK, Italy and Spain. We started designing websites as a hobby and still enjoy our work. We started out by creating websites for language schools in Italy and slowly expanded from there. Once we'd created our first few teaching and language school websites we got a lot of enquiries from referrals. Then, as one of our partners owns a cattery and we're all cat lovers, we got involved with designing cattery websites too. We still create a lot of educational websites and websites for catteries, kennels and animal charities, but now we offer our services to a wider market, designing websites for a range of small businesses.
Some website design agencies work to find as many orders as possible and then farm out the design work to freelance workers in places like India and Indonesia, which means they can keep their fees low. We don't do that. Each website order we accept is given to one of our designers and he or she will work on it through to completion, at which time the design is tested by two other designers. Each designer works on one website at a time, and we prefer to work at a relaxed pace, ensuring our clients get what they wanted. We like to keep things simple, and try to keep our websites simple too.
Many designers prefer to push clients towards buying CMS websites, wordpress in particular. The underlying reason is often profit; CMS websites need constant attention, with regular (sometimes almost monthly) updates to ensure everything keeps working and to deal with security issues. Unless you're familiar with CMS and looking after website security, this means you'll probably end up paying your website designer to deal with these things for you, for as long as you have the website.
We like HTML websites and always have. HTML websites rarely break, are not attractive targets for hackers, are quick-loading and work well on almost any type of hosting. It's true that they are not as easy to update (so our 'Plus pack' includes an update service to cope with this), but they are far less time-consuming. Unless you want to add or rewrite your pages on a regular basis you can more or less 'buy and forget' and HTML website.
We provide online prices for HTML websites, but CMS websites often require additional software and coding which is impossible to cost in advance. If you want a CMS website we provide personalised quotes, based on your requirements. We assess your needs and provide you with a quotation based on the work involved, and tell you what keeping it maintained will cost or involve.
